Church Security – Level 1 is a 24-hour, 2-day course developed by Frontline Response and Tactical Kingdom Defense designed to teach Church Security Teams how to competently respond to an active killer event at their church. Day 1:
The morning is spent in the classroom covering the class overview as well as medical skills (ACS Stop the Bleed, SMARCH, and triage assessments).
After lunch, we go out to the range to work on handgun use.
For the evening, we work on-site in your team’s church to go though single- and two-person CQB basics, including corners, doorways, and light usage.
Day 2:
The morning is spent training mass casualty medical scenarios, applying the skills taught the previous morning.
The afternoon is back out at the range building on the skills of the previous day.
In the evening, we return to your church to build on the previous evening’s CQB skills, including team tactics, covert vs. dynamic transitions, and running scenarios.

Handgun topics may vary depending on your team’s previous training:
- Holster use
- Reloads
- Shooting from concealment
- Increasing speed for “acceptable accuracy”
- Building consistency
CQB topics include:
- Pieing corners
- Flowing doorways
- Single- and two-person movement
- Light usage (weapon-mounted and handheld)
- Covert and Dynamic transitions
- Team dynamics
- Practice scenarios

Required:
- Quality holster on the waistline from the 12 o’clock position to 90 degrees on strong side
- No fabric or collapsible holsters
- No cross-draw, small-of-the-back, “flash bang,” or shoulder holsters
- No holsters with trigger-finger release mechanisms
- Minimum 1 spare pistol magazine with magazine pouch
- Handheld light
- 300-500 rounds of pistol ammunition
- Eye and ear protection
Recommended:
- Striker-fired 9mm pistol. Personal favorites are:
- CCW-rated belt
